You can use this money any way you wish: to help with medical expenses, car payments, groceries, nursing or child care expenses, rehabilitation, modifications to your home or vehicle or anything else you need.
Your cost depends on the level of coverage you choose and your age, gender and smoker status. You pay the full cost of coverage through payroll deductions.
You can elect or update your critical illness insurance as a new hire, during Benefits Open Enrolment or after a qualifying life event.
